Hardin Co, IA – Bryan Harken Dies in Head-On Crash on US-20
Hardin Co, IA (September 25, 2021) – On Friday, September 24, an 18-year-old was injured and a 61-year-old man was killed in the aftermath of a car accident in Hardin County.
The deadly collision occurred early that morning at around 10:30 a.m. The scene was located on the eastbound lanes of US-20. Local reports revealed that 18-year-old Alexzander Purman was headed eastbound in a Chevrolet Avalanche leading up to the crash.
Purman reportedly entered the median and crossed into westbound traffic. The Chevy crashed head-on with a Ford Explorer driven by 61-year-old Bryan Harken. Purman was flown to a local hospital for the treatment of serious injuries. Harken sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead by attending medical personnel.
An ongoing crash investigation is being managed by the Iowa State Patrol.
