Guthrie Co, IA – Steven Derry Injured in Tractor Accident at Justice Rd & 140th St
Guthrie Co, IA (May 15, 2021) – A collision between a tractor and a pickup truck in rural Guthrie County resulted in injuries on Wednesday, May 12.
According to initial reports, the accident occurred that evening near the time of 8:45 p.m. at the crossing of Justice Road and 140th Street. Local sources revealed that 60-year-old Steven Kevin Derry of Audubon was traveling northbound on a 1970 International 856 tractor at the time of the crash. The tractor was rear-ended by a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck driven by 23-year-old Kaleb Michael Borders of Copperas Cove, Texas.
Borders was injured and taken by ambulance to Mercy One Medical Center in Des Moines. Derry also sustained injuries and was transported to Audubon County Hospital. No further updates on their conditions have been provided at this time.
Local authorities are managing the ongoing investigation into the accident.
