Garrison, IA – Worker Injured in Roller Accident at Wendling Quarries on 61st St
Garrison, AI (May 15, 2021) – A rollover accident at a local quarry in Garrison left one worker injured on Thursday, May 13.
The incident occurred at the Wendling Quarries, located at the 1851 block of 61st Street, in Benton County. Local authorities were notified of the workplace accident that morning at around 8:21 a.m. The 23-year-old male worker was caught inside a roller and was freed by his co-workers before emergency responders arrived.
The injured party was taken to Virginia Gay Hospital for the treatment of serious injuries. He was later transferred to another medical facility. Multiple emergency response units were called to the scene to provide aid to the wounded party.
An investigation into the cause of the incident is underway.
