Fairport, IA – Girl Injured in Fall on Houseboat at Fairport Recreational Area
Fairport, IA (July 23, 2021) – On Sunday, July 18, a young girl had to be airlifted to a medical facility after falling on a houseboat in Fairport, according to local authorities.
Initial reports revealed that the incident occurred at the Fairport Recreational Area. Officials were notified of the incident at around 3:18 p.m. that afternoon. A 12-year-old girl reportedly fell down a set of stairs on the boat, leaving her with critical injuries.
The injured party was reportedly conscious when emergency personnel arrived, but she had no feeling in the lower portion of her body. Multiple emergency crews were called to the scene. The victim was ultimately flown to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City for the treatment of sustained injuries.
