Dubuque, IA – Jeleighsa Hamilton Injured in DUI Crash at Dodge St & Cedar Cross Rd

Dubuque, IA (June 23, 2021) – A multi-vehicle crash in Dubuque resulted in injuries on Sunday, June 23, according to local reports. 

Initial accounts indicated that the collision occurred at the corner of Dodge Street and Cedar Cross Road at around 5 p.m. According to local authorities, 31-year-old Jaleighsa Hamilton of Dubuque was waiting at a red light at the intersection. It was at this time that her vehicle was struck from behind by a car operated by 62-year-old Carl R. Wismeier of Dubuque. 

Hamilton was injured in the crash and transported to Dubuque Medical Center for treatment. Wismeier was charged by authorities with driving under the influence and failure to maintain control of his vehicle. No other injuries were reported in the accident. 

An ongoing crash investigation is being managed by local authorities and more information will be provided as it continues.
