Donnellson, IA – Young Girl Hit, Injured by Vehicle on Chestnut St
Donnellson, IA (November 10, 2021) – A pedestrian crash in Donnellson resulted in the injury of a young girl on Saturday afternoon, November 6. A two-year-old child was walking along Chestnut Street when she was hit by a motor vehicle at around 1:22 p.m.
Emergency responders were sent to the scene at the 100 block of Chestnut Street. Local reports revealed that 36-year-old Andrew Boone of Donnellson was parked outside a residence in a pickup truck. As Boone was talking with a resident, several children were reportedly playing on the roadway. Boone started to accelerate when the victim entered the path of the vehicle.
The injured party was provided aid at the scene before being flown to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for the treatment of sustained injuries. She is currently in stable condition. Charges are pending against the driver.
