Decorah, IA – Andrew Nesset Killed in Wrong-Way Crash on Pole Line Rd
Decorah, IA (May 4, 2021) – A two-vehicle collision in the Decorah area left one man dead and another driver injured on Saturday, May 1.
The incident was reported at around 4:10 p.m. According to initial reports, the fatal accident occurred at the corner of Pole Line Road and Iawinn Road. Officials from the Iowa State Patrol revealed that 53-year-old Andrew Nesset of New Richmond, Wisconsin was driving a 2009 Toyota Corolla south on the northbound lanes of Pole Line Road at the time of impact. At that time, a 2012 Ford F-150 pickup truck was traveling north on the roadway.
The two vehicles collided head-on, causing Nesset to suffer fatal injuries. The driver of the pickup was transported to Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah for the treatment of sustained injuries. Both vehicles had to be removed from the scene.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the fatal accident is underway.
