Cedar Rapids, IA – Motorcycle Crash on Williams Blvd Injures David Ballstaedt
Cedar Rapids, IA (May 6, 2021) – On Sunday, May 2, two people were injured following a motorcycle crash in the Cedar Rapids area.
The accident occurred early that morning at around 1:21 a.m. at the corner of Williams Boulevard and Dean Road. According to initial reports, a Harley-Davidson motorcycle operated by 45-year-old David Ballstaedt of Cedar Rapids was traveling on Williams Boulevard at the time of the accident. The operator lost control of the bike while entering a roundabout, causing the motorcycle to overturn.
Emergency responders were present at the scene to render aid to the injured parties. Both Ballstaedt and an unidentified passenger on the bike were hospitalized for the treatment of sustained injuries. Ballstaedt was cited for failure to maintain control and a registration violation.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
