California Semi Rear-ends Omaha Honda Pilot

Interstate rear end collisions should be investigated.

Adair, Iowa – Interstate 80 accident in Iowa that happened on February 21, 2022. A Honda Pilot with Omaha residents was rear-ended by a 2021 Freightliner semi. The 27-year-old semi driver, Jasvir Sood, is the only fatality. All occupants of the Honda Pilot are injured. A twelve-year-old is transported to Mercy Hospital. No report on his condition.

Omaha residents include Milinganyo Bwami, Wabiwa Yungu, and the juvenile.

WHAT WAS HE THINKING?

Was the driver of the semi on his phone? Sleepy? Or was there some other reason he ran his semi into the rear of the Honda Pilot.

If the semi-driver was working and covered by workers’ compensation his dependents may be entitled to receive benefits. The Iowa workers’ compensation benefits have been changed so much that what if any benefits this driver may be entitled to under Iowa law is undetermined.

There’s no question the Pilot folks are entitled to casualty insurance benefits. The trucking company’s are tough to deal with, even for lawyers.
