Alton, IA – Samantha Murphy, Two Others Injured in Car Crash on IA-10
Alton, IA (September 9, 2021) – A single-vehicle accident in the Alton area on Sunday, September 5, resulted in multiple injuries.
The crash was reported late that night at around 8:30 p.m. The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reported that 25-year-old Samantha Murphy was traveling westbound on IA-10 at the time of the crash roughly one-eighth mile from the city. Murphy reportedly lost control of the 2000 Ford F-250 pickup truck.
The vehicle entered a ditch where it overturned. Murphy and two passengers in the pickup suffered injuries in the accident. All three injured parties were transported by ambulance to Orange City Area Health for treatment. Murphy was cited by authorities for failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle.
