Cedar Rapids, IA (August 6, 2021) – There were reported hospitalizations following a house fire in Cedar Rapids on Thursday, August 5.
The incident occurred at a residence located at the 150 block of Leroy Street NW. Firefighters and emergency personnel were called to the scene at around 3:47 p.m. that day. When the Cedar Rapids Fire Department arrived, they were unable to find a fire but located smoke that was confined to a single room of the residence.
One of the occupants was reportedly covered in soot. Local reports confirmed that two occupants, a 71 and 77-year-old, were both taken to Mercy Medical Center for treatment. At this time, no updates on their injuries have been provided.
