Orange City, IA – Ila Mae Schiebout Injured in Crash at Concorde Ave & 1st Ave
Orange City, IA (August 1, 2021) – A local woman was injured in the aftermath of a two-vehicle crash in Orange City on Saturday, July 31.
At around 9:50 a.m. that morning, the Orange City Police Department reported that 80-year-old Wilmina De Jong was traveling westbound in a 2022 Chevrolet SUV on 1st Avenue NE. At the same time, 92-year-old Ila Mae Schiebout was headed northbound in a 2021 Chevrolet SUV on Concorde Avenue.
According to initial reports, the two SUVs collided shortly after entering the intersection. Schiebout was transported to Orange City Health System Hospital for the treatment of sustained injuries. Both vehicles sustained significant damage in the impact.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the collision is being handled by local law enforcement officials.
