Linn Co, IA – Lois Winch Dies in Rollover Accident on US-151 near Stone Rd
Linn Co, IA (July 12, 2021) – A single-vehicle crash in Linn County resulted in two confirmed deaths on Sunday afternoon, July 11.
Local reports revealed that the fatal accident occurred on US-151 near the intersection with Stone Road. Officials from the Linn County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the scene at around 3:30 p.m. that day. When emergency responders arrived, they discovered a white 2006 Mercury Mountaineer submerged in the water underneath a bridge.
Witnesses reported seeing the vehicle traveling eastbound before it left the roadway and entered the water. The driver and passenger were killed in the crash. The passenger was later identified as 80-year-old Lois Winch of Hopkinton. The identity of the driver has not been disclosed at this time.
