Van Buren Co, IA – Andrea Jo Buechel Injured in Head-On Crash on 180th St
Van Buren Co, IA (June 10, 2021) – A two-car collision on Tuesday, June 8, in Van Buren County left two drivers injured.
The Iowa State Patrol reported that the accident occurred on 180th Street at around 4 p.m. outside of Bonaparte. A van driven by 38-year-old Andrea Jo Buechel of Farmington was traveling east on the roadway when it collided with a westbound van. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene to render aid to the injured parties.
Buechel was airlifted to the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City for the treatment of serious injuries. The driver of the other vehicle, 61-year-old Nicholas E. Bowermaster of Keosauqua, was transported to Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua. Both drivers were properly restrained at the time of impact.
Law enforcement officials are handling the ongoing crash investigation.
