Des Moines, IA – Kieran Stirling Killed in Crash at Guthrie Ave & Hubbell Ave
Des Moines, IA (May 16, 2021) – A Des Moines man was killed following a three-vehicle collision on Thursday, May 13.
The deadly accident occurred at the crossing of Guthrie Avenue and Hubbell Avenue that evening. According to local sources, 53-year-old Kieran Stirling of Des Moines suffered critical injuries in the impact and was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. Emergency responders were called to the scene to provide aid to the injured parties.
Local reports revealed that 35-year-old Ashley Nicole Hennings fled from authorities after the fatal crash. She was later taken into custody and cited for multiple charges, including leaving the scene of a deadly accident, driving the wrong way on a one-way street, and driving on the wrong side of a two-lane road. Officers reported that Hennings showed signs of impairment at the scene.
Hennings was treated for injuries at the scene. An ongoing crash investigation is underway.
