Springville, IA – Ann Knupp Injured in Bicycle Accident on Whittier Rd
Springville, IA (May 9, 2021) – On Friday, May 7, a cyclist was seriously injured after being struck by a motor vehicle in the Springville area.
At around 5:30 p.m. that evening, the bicycle accident occurred at the 3367 block of Whittier Road. It was then that a woman driving a Nissan Altima hit the rider, identified as 57-year-old Ann Knupp. Knupp was sent crashing into a nearby embankment.
The injured party was air flighted to the University of Iowa Hospital in serious condition. The driver of the Nissan was later identified as 26-year-old Cynthanee Heeren of Central City. No charges have been filed at this time.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the fatal accident is in progress.
