Elma, IA – One Killed, Two Injured in Collision on 170th St
Elma, IA (November 4, 2021) – A head-on crash in Elma left one person dead and two others injured on Wednesday, November 3.
The deadly collision was reported early that morning at around 7 a.m. The incident occurred two miles northwest of Elma on 170th Street. A westbound Chevrolet Impala and an eastbound Volkswagen Passat collided head-on as the vehicles approached a hill near Garden Avenue.
According to reports from the Iowa State Patrol, one person was killed in the impact. One injured party was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, and another was taken to Regional Health Services of Howard County. The identities of the involved parties have not been released at this time.
An ongoing accident investigation is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
