Floyd, IA – Multiple Injuries in Head-On Crash US-218 & 155th St
Floyd, IA (May 12, 2021) – A two-vehicle collision in a rural area of Floyd left three people injured on Monday, May 10.
Emergency responders were notified of an injury crash on 155th Street near the intersection with SU-218. The Iowa State Patrol reported that a westbound 2005 Chevrolet Suburban attempted to pass a road grader that was emitting a cloud of dust, impairing visibility. At around 2:25 p.m. that afternoon, the Suburban crashed head-on with an eastbound 2015 Ford Edge.
Both drivers and a passenger in the Ford suffered injuries in the impact. The driver of the Suburban was taken by ambulance to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, and the driver and passenger of the Ford were transported to MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the collision is underway.
