Buena Vista Co, IA – Martin De Jesus Cruz Dies in Motorcycle Crash Co Hwy C65
Buena Vista Co, IA (July 5, 2021) – A collision involving three motorcycles resulted in two confirmed fatalities on Friday, July 2, in Buena Vista County.
The deadly accident occurred on County Highway C65 according to reports from the Iowa State Patrol. Three motorcycles were reportedly traveling down the roadway at the time of impact. A 2020 Honda motorcycle operated by 39-year-old Luis Garcia Contreras was reportedly traveling ahead when it made a U-turn into the path of another rider. The second bike, a 2013 Honda driven by 28-year-old Phya Soe Aung of Storm Lake, crashed into Garcia Contreras.
Aung then collided with another motorcycle, a 2005 Yamaha driven by 30-year-old Martin De Jesus Cruz also of Storm Lake. Both Aung and Jesus Cruz suffered fatal injuries in the crash and were pronounced dead at the scene. No further information has been provided at this time.
Local authorities are currently managing the ongoing accident investigation.
