Harrison Co, IA – Serena Mailes Injured in Deadly Crash on I-29 near Ex 89
Harrison Co, IA (August 4, 2021) – An Omaha man was killed and a Sioux City woman was injured following a two-vehicle crash in Harrison County on Wednesday, August 4.
The fatal crash occurred on Interstate 29 near Exit 89 early that morning. Local reports revealed that 39-year-old Carson Stiffler of Omaha was traveling southbound in a 2006 Honda Civic on the northbound side of the highway. At the same time, 20-year-old Serena Mailes of Sioux City was headed north in a 2017 Toyota Rav4.
Both vehicles collided at the on-ramp for the highway. The Honda crossed the median and overturned. Stiffler was ejected from the vehicle during the crash. He was taken to Missouri Valley Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Mailes was transported to the same medical facility for the treatment of sustained injuries.
