Trucking Collisions in Iowa
The great bulk of products are delivered throughout the country by large trucks, and the sheer size of these massive vehicles can endanger those riding in passenger cars on the highway. Smaller car occupants are more likely than bigger vehicle occupants to suffer life-threatening injuries in an accident, according to national collision data, and these incidents are known to be deadly. More than 500,000 transportation accidents are recorded each year, resulting in thousands of deaths and injuries.
Driving alongside huge semi-trucks and tractor-trailers is inherently risky, which is why many Iowa motorists have acute emotions of dread while passing an 18-wheeler or other commercial truck on the highway. A large number of individuals are killed or injured every year in collisions involving commercial vehicles, with the great majority of these deaths occurring in the drivers and passengers of passenger vehicles. All drivers on the road are expected to adhere to the same set of laws, but running a large big rig necessitates a higher level of expertise and experience. Truck drivers who lack the requisite skills to operate these large vehicles are at risk of creating catastrophic Iowa trucking accidents, which far too frequently result in the death or injury of innocent people.
In the case of a collision, the weight and size of these enormous trucks may cause life-altering injuries, and trucker deaths have been steadily increasing across the country in recent years.
