Center, IA – Connie Sue Bowen Injured in Rollover at US-34 & Kidd Rd
Center, IA (June 3, 2021) – A two-vehicle crash in Center on Wednesday, June 2, resulted in the injury of an Emerson woman.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident was reported at around 1:36 p.m. that afternoon and took place at the intersection of US-34 and Kidd Road. Initial reports revealed that a 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche K1500 driven by James Belt was traveling northbound on Kidd Road at the time of the crash. Belt reportedly failed to yield and hit the passenger side of a 2021 Ford Explorer driven by 63-year-old Connie Sue Bowen of Emerson.
The impact caused the Chevy to leave the roadway where it overturned, while the Ford slid into a nearby ditch. Bowen was transported to the University of Nebraska Medical Center for treatment of sustained injuries. Belt and his passenger, Elias Belt, left the scene without treatment.
Local authorities are conducting an investigation into the cause of the crash.
Our thoughts are with Connie Sue Bowen and her family at this time. We hope for a full recovery.
